ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
The O'Sullivan Traditional Irish Dance Academy was established in 1996 by Tara O'Sullivan Jordan with less than 20 students at the Father Baker Knights of Columbus in Lackawanna, NY. Since that time we have grown to over 150 students and moved into our own state of the art Studio in South Buffalo NY, as well as an off site location at the Knights of Columbus in Hamburg NY.
Tara has been certified to teach competitive Irish Dance through a five part examination given by the An Coimisiun le Rince Gaelacha, Dublin Ireland and is a member in good standing with both that governing body and the Irish Dance Teachers Association of North America and the Mid-Atlantic Region.
The goal of the teachers at the Academy is to teach solo, team and performance Irish dance to the best of each dancer's ability. Students at the Academy learn self-confidence and discipline as well as dedication when dancing with a team. Most important to the Academy is that each student is taught to enjoy dancing while learning life lessons that go far beyond the studio walls.
